Antique German Chalkware Hen Rooster Candy Container – Hand-Painted Chicken on Nest

Delightful antique German chalkware candy container featuring a proud white hen perched atop a colorful nest.  The base is wrapped in a floral printed paper band and opens to reveal a hollow compartment once filled with Easter sweets or small gifts. Stamped Germany on the underside.

Measurements:

• Height: approx. 4"

• Base measures 1.5" x 2.5"

• Material: Chalkware (plaster) with hand-painted details and paper-covered cardboard base

• Mark: “Germany” stamped on bottom

Condition:
Good antique condition with expected wear to paint and minor surface chips, including a chip on the head and tail. The paper base shows light age toning and edge wear but remains sturdy and intact.
