Hand-Painted Porcelain Portrait of Madame du Barry – Signed “Kiesewetter”

Finely painted porcelain portrait miniature depicting Madame du Barry, mistress of Louis XV, signed Kiesewetter at the right edge. The artist was active in the late 19th to early 20th century and is recorded on Berlin (KPM) and Viennese portrait plaques of this period.

It is mounted in its original gilt brass (ormolu) frame with a ribbon-and-bow crest and crushed red velvet background, with the reverse inscribed “Dubarry”.
